Mines

Alright, I've heard rumors (I'm not entirely sure) that when you prospect a mine, you can find one anywhere now (mountains/mudflat areas I mean). Is this a true fact, or all fiction?

That's what I'm hearing. You can build a mine hole literally anywhere.

It's true. In fact you can build mines now without having prospected at all. You won't know if you'll have ore then though.

But i can i fortify them solidly?

Main idea of the quote - this is your fault that i killed you, not mine.

Ahh~ Alright, so if I DO just build a mine willy-nilly and start mining and I don't get ore, what should I expect? Stone?

Whut? You might want to rephrase that because I have no clue what you are talking about.

Yup, either stone or nothing. It all depends on luck, you might just randomly place your minehole on a batch of iron.

You could skip the build-a-minehole part and mine directly in a cave though. Cave entrances and mineholes that are built on the surface lead to the same underground layer. Mineholes only really make sense if you've prospected and know what you'll be getting due to the expensive materials that are needed to build one.

Isn't there a specific strength level you need to mine caves though? I heard it was 40 but I'lm not so sure.

It depends on the type of rock you're trying to mine and the quality of your tool. Some rock is minable with 40 strength, other needs 100. Better Q of your tool means less strength needed.

The number of question threads in the Inn is just unreal. Are you people all too stupid to read the descriptions for the subforums?
