What am I doing wrong?

I have searched topics on the forum, read the wiki ... And still do not understand how do I find the rabbits and spindly taproots? I have the skill "hunting" and "foraging". I wandered around for about an hour and all I could find - a fox and a couple of ant hills.

You need to spend LP in Exploration ,i have lvl 4 exploration , and now i find rabbits and roots often .

Have you put any points into exploration? You wont see many taproots or stinging nettle untill you get arround at least 5 in exploration. There is a formula here with exp and your perception. With 10 Perc and 5 in exp, you get a plant finding skill of 50. Thats Perc*Exp. As for rabbits, that is just a matter of luck. Never go out of your way to find the buggers. You will only drive yourself crazy. Let them come to you. It is rumord that animals are more abundant in the day.

I got exploration lvl 4. Found some deers, more foxes, 5 spindly taproots... but still no rabbits!

Rabbits, foxes, chickens, etc. don't depend on exploration, just luck. Everyone can see them. Be patient, work on other things, and you'll find one eventually. Move around a lot, explore your area or look for a more ideal one. If you cover more ground you'll be more likely to find a rabbit soon. (And you'll find more other things too.)

You are also able to see your first rustroots at exploration lvl 1, just not all of them. Which is why it might take a while to actually discvoer one and is getting easier the more you raise exp/perc.

Level 1? Seriously? I thought those had an absolute bare minimum of 500.
