If you have committed a criminal act such as stealing or knocking someone out then you can be tracked and summoned whilst you are offline.

So you either have to be good and behave, or you have to hide your hearthfire in a house and build lots of walls to keep people out so they can't get to your fire to summon you.

the strange thing is that I haven't stolen from anybody or knocked anyone out. I wonder if I didn't log out fast enough. my dead body isn't even on my hearth fire. it's where it was when I logged off

ah ok, I didn't realise they had just walked up to you. If you are engaged in combat, say the person just hit you or shot you, you would remain logged into the game. It sounds very much like you didn't log out quick enough. Sorry for your loss.

If someone attack you and you will logout, you are logged but you dont play.

necromancers hat I think. all black. just said "aye" and then started punching me. and it's not so interesting when you have to start a new character then wake up the next day to see all of your stuff gone. even the bed you were sleeping in AND runestones blocking your way out of your own house. faggots. those runestones said "bitches love runestones." well they don't.

and yeah, this kind of things is what makes this game so interesting
