Is my cow defective?

Postby abominare » Wed Feb 09, 2011 9:31 pm

Recently I went out and tamed a cow and a bull. I returned triumphantly and made popcorn for the inevitable 'cow show' that would follow. IT took some time as the bull seemed much more interested in the sheep in the other pen. However after fantasizing enough about wool lingerie Mr Bull got the courage to court ms cow.

I was mortified and slightly disturbed by the ensuing cow moans. When it was over I put the cow in the sheep pen to avoid another pregnancy if I missed the birth. (at the time the wiki didnt have pregnancy length)

Its been some 6 days and 14+ hours, where as the wiki says it should only be 4.5 days, and no calf. Ive tried sticking them together for another go at mating but they just ignore each other as the bull is too busy contemplating his next conquest when he visits the Falkland Islands.

Is this normal? a bug? Do i need to slaughter the cow or the bull or eve both? Did the wiki lie? Miscarriage? The bull is shooting blanks?

How big is your pen area? Cows have rocket vaginas and can shoot their spawn 20+ tiles if I remember correctly.

There's nothing hard about it,just get some armour if he manages to attack you.
First you get 32 ip by call of the thunder , then you do sidesteps until the left scales is down.
Then you do Consume the flames for the number in the circle to go to 0
Then you Quell it and wait for it to aggro on you again, don't attack him by yourself.

you dont actually need any stats if you do it right but leather armor helps if you time it wrong and get hit occassionally

You don't need 32... 14 is enough for 3 sidesteps and 2 to quell.

What about stats? i have 20 strenght and was planning on grinding constitution to 20 aswell, the last time a boar attacked me it knocked me out on the first hit.
Also about the aurochsen, should i sign-fence all of them? Will all the herd attack me once i aggro one with quell the beast?
The wiki doesnt say anything about these points.

thx for the replies :D

erm... http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Taming#Fencing_the_beast
It's even on the same page. :P

Stats don't really matter that much, I think its more important to have high UC. IIRC it increases your blue defense meter in case you get hit by an Auroch. Bring some armor and fence them so you can attack them and retreat while waiting for the cooldown - that way they can't get attack you / fill their attack bar / get combat advantage / increase combat intensity.
