lapsed village claim

Postby Fichina » Thu Feb 17, 2011 3:59 pm

I've found a semiabandoned town (apparently one person might be living there) and just recently found out that I could move stuff inside the claim but outside the walls freely (I don't even have theft/trespassing). Is this a sign of a town with no authority? There are still banners and the idol, and the village name still annouces when you get close but nothing seems to be enforced and there's no personal claims on it.

I'm not a theif but I don't want to just see some neat stuff rot away just because they weren't nice enough to leave the gate open when they abandoned it.Time to get the battering ram?

you don't need to have a claim over a village claim,people who are not invited to village can't steal the stuff.

Is there any way to tell if I've been invited to a village? Somebody passed by my house earlier who I didn't get a good look at, but the first time I noticed I could lift stuff over there was after that chance meeting.

Adventure -> Leave Village
You'll also have a new chat tab, 'Village'

If you don't have these, you're probably not in a village. If you can drop items on the village claim and pick them up, then their authority is low. This could be for a lot of reasons -- removing a large personal claim, members quitting, inactivity, etc.. If you wish to capitalize on this opportunity, go for it.

If the Village is out of authority points. You can behive on the claim as if there was no claim. What you can do is, if you can see on the idol. You can rightclick it and become LS remotedly. I did it and it works.

EDIT: by behive I meant behave, no bees involved :)

I believe auth-less village idols don't have burning eyes.

EDIT: Although the idol still gives off light.

of course claiming LS won't magically give me their gate keys right? I'll still have to bust my way in?

So again, main question here:

How can you tell if a village has no authority, and what exactly can I do with a authority-less village without leaving scents?

Everything. No or low authority on a village means you don't need criminal acts to do stuff. It's the same as the old "no claim, free game".

If the village isn't actually abandoned then the residents might think otherwise, of course.
