Trade using village claim?

Hey, i'm not a LS/chief so I'm not sure how this works, was just wondering how people trade across long distances(Like, 4 SGs) using a village claim (I know of the tele skill, just not the specific steps on how to get there and back)

I am not sure what you are asking, but a village claim facilitates trade first by allowing you to build a crossroad, which lets people teleport directly there. Vending and barter stands can also be built on village claims.

1. you create a newbie character, other side (trade partner) creates newbie character.
2. both characters' hearth fires get destroyed.
3. you accept your partners' character into your village, partner accepts yours into his
4. you can travel to village idol as if it is your hearth fire if you don't have a hearth fire and are part of village
5. load boats with goods, lift boats, teleport to idol. repeat until happy. exchange complete.

I believe you can, though I am unsure as to how myself. Some of the villagers in my own village could only get the Oath of Allegiance when I clicked on their actual character, rather than them in kin list.

You need to be in party with that person and use oath on portrait, if I remember correctly.

re-opening topic for clarification,(having just made my first village),

i understand being able to make a trader a member of my village by way of party portrait,
but i dont understand a few things,,

why does the trader have to destroy hearth fire? because i use my 'travel to village' all the time, but my hearths are inside my village too, so can use either..
or is it so trader can choose which village he teleports to? mine and traders.

do i have to make a new character for every trade?

The issue with having your hearthfire still means that you're limited by your agility and travel weariness. You cannot exceed 100% travel weariness when teleporting if you have your hearthfire. You do not suffer this issue if you do not have a hearthfire. Most villages will be out of the range of a 10 agi alt.

You do not need a new alt for every trade. Just join their village, bring the items, leave their village, rejoin your village, bring the items back, rinse and repeat.
