Best possible equipment

Postby Zarxes » Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:40 am

I was wondering what was the best possible equipment. In the wiki you find a lot of gear, but some pieces have their drawbacks, and since im pretty new to this game id like to hear what the veteran guys prefer to wear. Feel free to comment any slot, even those i dint comment myself. What Rings and Amulets should i try to get? Is there maybe gear which is crappy at low quality and is best in slot at high quality?

I fight with ua,(around 90) and i can do a little marksmen (around 60)

My gear:
bear cape - is soldiers helmet/dragon helm + cape x better?
plate armor - is the protection worth the agility price?
soldier gauntlets
rangers boots
bear toth talisman
nettle pants - +ua worth the -agi?
leather pants
vapntreyiu - Take the protection or ua from nettle shirt?

I am interested too in which stats i should invest FEP. Right now i try to raise str:agi:con 3:2:2. But im wondering if con or agi is worth the food and if i should invest more in str since constitution helps only if your defense bar is depleted or vs marksmen (Is there a marksmen level where you can shoot moving targets?).

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the agility drawbacks. Surviving attacks in this game is more valuable than dealing more damage. Also when you can afford the best possible equipment you shouldn't have any problems stuffing enough agi food into your hearthlings stomach.

The best possible equipment for a fighter is:
Dragon Helmet
Plate Armor
Soldiers Gauntlets
Rangers Boots
Vapntreyiu
Leather Pants
Rangers/Nettle pants (I prefer ranger pants)
Thanes Rings
For the necklace slot I prefer bandits mask to not be easily recognizable. BTT works fine as well or Monocle if you try to find scents. Family heirloom might be an option as well should you suspect your enemies to be stupid or in too much of a rush when they kill you. For everyday tasks peral necklace is certainly the way to go.
Bonus: A dev item cape to look more special ;)

The three are equally important for a melee/ua fighter, so try to keep them at the same level.

I'd disagree with you there. If your armour is taking hits, you've already lost. And cooldown length is really, really important, if your oponent is gaining IP much faster than you there's no way you can win.

So yeah, I'd recommend cutthroat cuirass till like 100 agi, then switch to steel plate. Since agi penalty doesn't scale with your agi, it's crippling at low level but irrelevant at high level.

Well, I was kinda asuming a good fighter with access to best equipment had at least 100 Agi ;)

Still would prefer a bronze plate over cuirass before I have those stats.

I actually had a pretty lengthy talk about armor vs AGI. If your don't let your opponent get past your defense bar, there is no need for such heavy armor, and having more agility, really does help with that. But after my last conversation about it, it was concluded that if your opponents have any rangers, the plate armor would be of greater use to you, so I switched back to it. ( I was using chain armor, switched back to plate )
You may have foiled the plans of BAD-EVIL this time, but there is no rest for the wicked.

To a chain armor I would prefer a cuirass too though, it at least gives you some buffs. But yeah, the rangers are probably the best argument for heavy armor. The fights I usually am in take part on a larger scale than just 1 on 1, so I have to expect some archers to be part of it. I died to one last map, because I was wearing a ranger cloak and not a dragon helmet, that sure thought me my lesson.
