Stomp to dirt function

Postby Raonyi » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:50 pm

Hello all,

I would like to know the function of "Stom to dirt". I tried it in a tile of my farm, and got the tile useless. Also, I tried to "Plant grass" in that tile*, with a Wheat seed, but is still useless.

* As said in thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16049

Thanks in advance. :)

The main purpose of stomping tile to dirt is writing profanity on the landscape.

You can build on stomped dirt, like paved land. It will degrade back to the base terrain after a while though, and also it doesn't offer the same degree of degradation protection a paved fundament offers. It looks pretty good though, so if you want a more rustic, rural look of your area, then using dirt as fundament is cool beans.

It also works as an improved pathway, meaning you can move at third speed without stamina loss on a road made from stomped dirt, just like paved road. It's cart-moving enhancement is less good than a paved road though, allowing you to move second speed with a cart rather than the third speed on paved road.

The point of stomping to dirt is to grief others by killing their land temporarily. It's like salting the earth after you've raided somewhere.

Do note: You can't plow stomped land as far as I can tell.

So it is useful as a griefing technique

You should be able to plant grass on dirt. To waste excess low Q wheat seeds, I sometimes stomp my grass to dirt, then plant. (Decent lp too)

Perhaps, but wooden plow is slow and stamina consuming, haven't got my hands on a metal one yet.

Why are you not turning wheat seeds into flour?
