Murder

Postby Imrannan » Tue Mar 08, 2011 5:04 am

If I summoned someone in my cellar and attempted to kill them with a sling (q38), a bow (q65), or UA with 72 str, is it likely that I could if they had armor? Would anyone know if I summoned them if they were offline and their friends were online?

You'd be more likely to kill them with UA than marksmanship, armor is the kryptonite of MM. What is your UA anyways?

No one would necessarily know immediately, but if you trespass to reach their hearthfire, you'd leave scents. Also, pretty sure the murder itself will still leave scents even if they are summoned.

UA is only 45 but I could raise it to the 70s or 80s with my saved up LP right now. And I can't see their hf, they are behind a palisade, but I ranged their scents and found them after a few hours of looking. Can't I just force summon them without their hf? Or do I need to destroy their hf before I can summon them?

EDIT: Also, I thought bow damage ignored armor? Or is that only a rangers bow? Maybe I'm just misinformed. And I was going to summon them in my cellar so that no one else would see the scents until they disappeared. I have a feeling I don't know entirely what I'm talking about.

If you can summon them in your cellar, it means they don't have a hearthfire and so their village won't be able to tell. They'll be counted as logged in, so if their friends check their kin list, they may be able to see them online -- I'm not actually sure about that though.

Sling? No.
Bow? Maybe.
Unarmed? Yes.

Ranged weapons ignore Defense. Nothing ignores armor.

Okay so summoning people shows them as online, not just putting their character in front of you for the deed. Good to know. Can they log on in the middle of an assault and proceed to kick my ass or would it not allow them to log on? I'm thinking the first.

If they still have a hearthfire, you cannot summon them anywhere but that hearthfire. You'll need to find a way to get to their hearthfire before you can summon kill them.

Well what the shit. And destroying a hf leaves scents too right? So really theres no safe way to murder someone by summoning unless they themselves just dont have a hf by choice or someone else destroyed it?

That is correct. There is meant to be no safe way to murder someone. All actions have consequences.
