How to stay alive?

Hello everyone! I've been playing for a week or so with my main character.
Then i've tried an alt. I've started somewhere in the forest with no chapterstone to teleport. I've tried fighting ant's and others... I've lost nearly all my life having 40/40/100 with no regen because of hunger. Then i realiced i have no food. I've quickly raised my skills and started finding food. After a while I've met someone who have killed me. I could survive alone, but I just realised that my main character can be also killed that way. My main char has a claimed land and some stats and skills.

How can i stay alive in my village?
Can i know anything about the murder?
Is a stone wall an ultimate defense which can't be destroyed what easy?

Main quastion is how to survive in such a wild place?

You definitely need a palisade. A brick wall is more secure, but it's unlikely anyone will attempt breaking down your palisade, unless they believe you have valuable resources in there.
Aside from that, don't fight any animals in close combat unless you're sure you will win and when you meet armed people you don't know, don't stop for a chat, but rather be on your way quickly.

The wiki doesn't really explain what is or isn't valuable to other players. That only comes with experience and more in depth knowledge of the game.

What are valuable resouses?

These are hard to acquire things or displaying lots of gold, silver, massive production facilities such as large farms or lots of drying racks with pelts on them, lots of metal working, etc. The best suggestion is to keep things inside or underground. If you do want a 'rich' village, make sure there are people that can defend it.

As far as your original questions, I'm going to have to agree with SpiderJerusalem here. The basics of survivability are in the wiki and in the stickies here in the forums. Read what everyone else is posting, too. If English isn't your native language, check for H&H forums elsewhere for readability. I understand that there are German, Polish, and Russian at least.

If you can't find your way back to where you corpse is/was, you're out of luck.
