Winemaking question

Postby Grable » Fri Mar 25, 2011 8:48 am

I've a few questions regarding wine making:

- It takes 1 week ingame to produce wine from grapejuice in barrel. What happens if I mix in fresh grapejuice in grapejuice that was sitting in the wine barrel for 3 ingame days? Does the timer reset?
- What happens to quality of the juice if I mix in a new one, does it add&derive?
- What happens if I put grapejuice in a barrel that already has wine in it?
- If I take out the grapejuice out of the barrel and put it back in, does the timer reset?

Ty in advance

- it averages the time.
- also averages the quality.
- Not sure it'll -let- you do that.
- Pretty sure it does.

No, it definitely will not let you put grape juice in with wine. Same goes with vinegar and also with beer/wort. I can just see people breaking in just to water down the wine and beer barrels just to lower the quality if you could mix liquids.

They can break in, destroy our homes, kill our families... but to ruin our wine? That's just evil.

It's worth noting that when it averages the aging and the quality, it also takes into consideration the volume of the two things you're combining. But I think it rounds off the volume abit so it might end up a little different from what you expect.

So if I added 1l of fresh grapejuice to let's say 70l of 2day old grapejuice, it would only decrease the timer slightly?

I was playing around with this, and the math sometimes doesn't quite add up.

I had some low quality juice i could waste, so i combined 10L of q5 grapejuice with 5L q2 juice, and i got 15L of q6 juice? it doesn't quite add up, might just be the 'rounding' in action.

I had a somewhat similar experience, only the other way round. I added some Q14 juice to some Q12 juice in a barrel, and ended up with Q11.
