Why can't we have a peaceful server/zone ?

I saw a new player (in the new player clothing) get killed by a much higher lever griefer, who chased me when I came by. I'm not even sure why this is allowed. All other titles at least have safe zones or opt in player killing so peaceful players are free to just have fun playing the game.

I can understand being killed for theft or something, but when you're crafting your first basket, there's nothing more cruel than having an experienced player come along a slaughtering you, just to be a prick.

I would love to see a server/zone where the griefers are free to slit each others throats to their hearts content, and have a separate server or zone where normal people can play in peace.

This game is very fun and addictive, but having people come by and raiding your place and killing you makes all the effort seem pointless.

What would people do on such server? Chat with each other and sow wheat forever?
Just join some big village and you automatically find yourself in griefers-free zone.

getting killed, and the perma-death is what makes this game so addictivly fun, its a dangerous world out there and im sure 95% of the hearthlings wouldnt play if it wasnt.
killing makes this world go round.

you get killed, respawn and make freinds, who kill your murderers, and are in turn killed, who respawn and get THEIR friends to kill others and the cycle continues.

as was said if you dont like being killed or threatend, find a village, and become the town farmer, nothing is less dangerous :mrgreen:

HnH is a cruel world when you can die anywhere anytime, thats what makes this game interesting.

So blodshed might start when someone uses criminal acts (and since it then leaves scents it can escalate freely), but in case you stay on the light side you're at peace.
You might still get raided or vandalized though, but no longer slaughtered without any provocation.

Maybe in case enough people are interested in trying such a version Jorb and Loftar might temper justice with mercy and setup a parallel world to test how it plays out... ?

Why not. Just remove PVP, that is, rage and murder skills, and look how many players will still play without means to punish thieves, but with said thieves.

Also, if I didn't said that in public, it would be great April Fools joke.

Alas, my friend, I'll spoil your fun until game mechanics allow me to and I find it attractive. Well I'm not that bad. Don't you admit I'm making your grey days of infinitive grinding more colorful? At least you have someone to be angry at =D

Makes no sense in that context, which is "server without PVP", or more precisely, "way to show damn hippies why killing is good and unability to kill is bad".
