According to the wiki the damage formula for swords is:
Base Damage * sqrt(sqrt(quality*strength)/10)
So a bronze sword of Q 10 allways does 325 damage with 10 strenght
What effect does the meele atribute has then? Does it affect the chance to hit?

So, lets assume that i manage to do 4 oportunity knocks and i completely depled his defense bar. Does the meele skill affect how many hitpoints i take form his shp?

Theoretically, no, in practice yes since he'll recover some defence before your Opportunity Knocks cooldown is finished. Not that you'd ever last long enough to get that much IP if your combat skill is significantly lower than your opponent's.
So damage is kinda important, but the main thing really is combat skill. Especially UA, since if you don't have any points in it the opponent can recharge his whole attack or defence bar every time you make a move.

10*10 = 100
sgrt(100) = 10
10/10 = 1
sqrt(1) = 1
325*1 = 325
