Some invaders (a pox on them) have erected a village claim covering my stake claim, and diplomacy doesn't seem to work. After they've been harrassing my friends I'm not very eager to join them (my russian sucks anyway), so being a fairly new player I could use some pointers on the mechanism of claims to make it as cumbersome as possible for them to succeed with their invasion.
1. A friend advised me to close the gates of my palisade and then de-claim, since I'd be contributing to their authority as long as I have a stake claim inside their village. As I understand it though, I'm not a villager even if their city claim covers my stake claim, so I don't contribute to their authority unless I choose to accept an invitation to join the village. Which view on the mechanism is correct? If necessary I'd drop the claim, but I'd rather resist a bit and not give in easily.
2. If I keep my stake claim intact, will the invading villagers be able to walk on my ground and/or take my stuff due to the area being inside their village claim, or does my personal stake claim supersede that village claim? (until they got enough authority to de-claim me of course, but at least it'll cost them in that case)
3. is there, apart from making sure there won't be anything left to steal by the time they got high enough authority to declaim me, an efficient way to sabotage them or hamper their efforts? I'm not a warrior type and don't have high (20-) stats yet, my own area is shut in and can't expand anymore, both my own area and their village claim building are palisaded and they got several banners spread around the area.
Other advice is welcome too, of course! Tharsonius
