Basically. how much is enough? i currently have 1696... Is that enough? Should I keep raising perception and bumping explore?

well, it depends on what you want to use it for..... but either way it's still quite low right now

if you want to use it for foraging only I'd go for at least 3200 per*exp (too see all mussels) you should also be able to find all foragables by now, tho not spot them all on first try (this does not include possible yet unknown high skill foragables)

if you want it for ranging..... well then your one hell away from it being usefull as with the high int needs nowadays raising a bit stealth for criminals seems to be "in fashion"


as for how to raise it... I went for 50 exp and from there just increased perception... came up to 4100 per*exp that way by now (including spectacles)

What's the percentage to gain river pearl from mussel? I know wiki says like 1% but I boiled my first mussel yesterday and got a river pearl. So, is the wiki percent off or was I just damn lucky

you were very lucky because the wiki is right.
its always good if you have several people out looking for mussels, because more mussels = more pearls = more lp = better gameing

From everything I've read, exploration caps in usefulness at about 40-50. Some people say 30 is enough actually. The main reason being that ability stats often get up into the 100-200 range by world end, and anything past 3200 isn't overly useful. The other uses obviously being minimum damage in range combat and tracking scents.

My only comment about this would be high end curios. I'm not sure what the range on the edeilweib or whatever it is that lives in mountains. I'd say definitely don't bother raising past 50 exp.

You need an intial 2k perc*exp to see Edelweiss, yet I found out that 4k exp*perc is not enough to see them all. So even when you use it for foraging only you will need more than 4k to spot everything.

if it's 2k initial, it would be 50% at 4k and 100% at 8k
