Flax vs hemp?

Hemp seems to offer you the option of increased FEP's if you someone manage to have more seeds than you need...

I planted flax and hemp at the same time, hemp was ready to harvest at the final stage before flax.

they usually take the same amount of time for me.
sometimes flax is ready first, sometimes hemp is ready first, no matter which i plant first.
im guessing its just the last random growth factor for the final stage that gives you the idea of which grows faster.

well, i can never be sure, im often wrong on this kind of thing, but since sabinati says so, i think im right this time

I haven't noticed a significant difference in growth speed. There's a touch of randomness involved in the final stage it seems.

Hemp is "better" because it has other uses. Typically people will grow both though, keeping flax for the fibers and trying to grow smaller amounts of hemp for the buds.

With the 'simple crops' mod, this can be a moot point, but...

A lot of people got away from growing flax because rendering it and the data transfers really slow the game down.

It seems like hemp grows a bit faster, but not significantly so. Again, the random factors of crop growth leave things up in the air.

Flax fields look cuter and it is easier to click specific tile when harvesting.
