How do I calculate damage?

How do I calculate dammage need to destroy stuff and like when I attack something? Also whats the equation to finde out how much str you need to destroy something like for any thing with any soak?

Your damage done is sqrt(STR) + tool damage. You need to top the soak by a full point to be able to destroy it at all.

I was commenting on his useless linking to the main wiki page as a sort of "READ THE WIKI YOU IDIOT" when the answer to many questions (including the one in the OP) isn't obviously present when checking the wiki.

Simply linking to the wiki homepage serves absolutely no purpose towards answering the guy's question.

Everything can be found in the wiki as well as searching the forum using keywords. What you see as useless I see as a chance to learn.

oh ok thanks and just to double check if you aint usin a tool then its just the "sqrt(str) = your damage which hast to be > damage soak" though every ones got a stone axe at their disposal. Oh and do you have andy idea whats up with the FEP calculations and stuff, 'cause the wiki says its the first new food you eat should bring it down 30% of what the total is and on one of my noob characters it brings it down form 13 to 10.7. Yet when I take 30% of it like the wiki says in this equation 13 - (13 * .3) it ='s 9.1 not 10.7? one more reason that refrencing the wiki aint always reliable, though I use it alot.
