Crossroads, claims and dead villages

Postby Sevenless » Mon May 23, 2011 11:25 pm

Do crossroads continue to function when their village idol is destroyed?

Do crossroads no longer covered by a village claim continue to function (banner beside them gets destroyed)

If yes to question 2, does a personal claim prevent them from decaying?

You can teleport to them just not use them to teleport to somewhere

For them no longer being village claimed? Or for them losing their village idol base but still being bannered?

Both.

Any CR not claimed/attached to a village is unusable outbound, but still usable inbound.

I believe you can use it inbound again by covering it with another village's auth, but I haven't tested it.

If I want to give a trusted village a signpost to my village, should I give them one for inside my walls or is it safer to give them one to outside and then let them in whenever they want to visit? What if their village gets raided, could someone use their signpost with my sign to get inside my village? Can you take any sign from a signpost or do they only give out their own?

(Sorry new to village life here and this seemed like a good place to ask)

You should never give anyone a signpost to inside your village, outside is always safer regardless of who it is. Yes, if their village is raided the raiders can use their cross roads to get inside your village if they have the sign. Only the lawspeaker/chieftan of a village can take a crossroad sign from their village.

Two options:
If you trust them to break their CRs before anyone invades them, give them a sign to inside but to a CR made just for them. I highly am against anyone ever doing this (giving signs to inside), ever.

Make them their own CR outside your walls, let them in when they come.

There are very few villages I trust as up to snuff with security standards as ours, so yeah, maybe you're more lax with that sort of thing.

If they ever get raided, anyone can come to your village from it.
CRs only give out their own. That is a sign to THAT pole, you can only take it if LS/Chief of the land the CR is on. You cannot take 'down' signs from a Crossroad, you can only Destroy (removes Sign from Crossroad).

Can a village be taken over simply by destroying the idol and building your own to replace it?
If so what does it take to destroy an idol?

Might make a raid more fun?
