Fighting foxes barehanded.

Postby kerianor » Wed Jun 01, 2011 3:28 pm

Hi there!
Daily question: i want to fight foxes with my bare hands. I thought I was skilled enough but I only managed to resist for a while then it started to kick my butt.
Is there any winning strategy against this seemingly unbeatable foe?
These are my stats, skills, attributes, etc:

strength 15
agility 13
const 11
dex 11

unarmed combat 20 (but I have enough LPs to buy another point)
unarmed combat
valor
militia training
brawling

Don't bother until you've got 40+ UAC. Really it'll make it much easier (and there's no real point to fighting foxes anyway).

If you are not skilled at combat, then you need at least 35-40 unarmed. Skilled fighter could try at 30 or lower. Plus buy some more combat skills and learn how to use them. Here is good topic for combat system learning.

Sorry cobaltjones, can you explain me what's UAC?

I'd like to be a barehand only fighter but the fighting system looks quite complicated/unintuitive at first sight

btw thanks for your awesome client

UAC or UA = UnArmed Combat. The incrementable skill. Also for reference: MC is melee combat

The fighting system is pretty complicated, but it's quite powerful and fun once you learn it. It just takes practice, and foxes are good practice.

If you can, engage them near a boat so you can hop in or near a house or cave so you can exit the map. That way, if you start losing the fight, you can break off easily. I think 25 is the minimum, though a few of the vets around here might be able to do it closer to 20. If you have friends, you can spar with them, too, for practice.

No friends, and I feel so alone ;__;

Anyway is the following tactic good?
dash the fox till I have some good IP
build defence (jump+slide?)
seize the day
punch it like a pro/knock his teeth out when I've got the chance?

You have to use the manoeuvres too. Just make sure you don't get hit while using Bloodlust, and that you don't use Death or Glory too long (it depletes your defence). And if you can get to 6 IP you should use Flex instead of Jump.

I don't have flex yet :(
Also, what does that delta IP mean? It gives me the difference between mine and enemy's IP?

sqrt(your UA/enemy UA)

Flex is a bread and butter move, you should get it before you start fighting anything tougher than ants.
