Cave in damage

Postby Sevenless » Sun Jun 19, 2011 5:27 pm

Anyone know how cave in damage works? I was doing a little unsafe digging on lvl 1 and got hit for a cool 400 damage. That's a lot higher than I'd been led to believe.

50, 100, 200, 400, 800
You can be hit by multiple boulders, or none. I've had both happen. You were very unlucky.

Ehn, no lasting harm done. Cow Chorizo's are my friends :) And I'm not dumb enough to snake any lower than lvl 1 ;)

As the profession of mining is a very hazardous task due to the potential of having multiple cave-ins occuring, it is recommended you create an alternative character strictly for mining and empowering him/her with only strength wich setting the belief slider to tradition after obtaining mining. The reason for placing the belief slider to tradition is because it is not necessary for him/her to learn any other skills and should they meet their demise to a cave-in, they will retain more of their strength as oppose to neutral and especially change.

Not sure about this. I have seen numbers around 300 on lvl 1.

i wonder if it is related to rock hardness or some unknown other node... then it would make sense for damage to go up in some places.

It's not rock hardness.

DOG has it right. You can get hit by multiples, so going by that logic, you could see 500+ on L2.

Both times I've had a cavein on level 1, I've been hit for 400 damage. I guess the distribution of number of rocks that hit you doesn't peak at 1, but at some high number. Considering both my experiences and those of several other people in this thread. So even though a rock only does 50 damage, you should still only do unsafe digging if you are prepared for about ~6-8 rocks...

Maybe (Just throwing out a theory here) when cave-in occure, you'll see rocsk falling around you, sometimes you see 1 sometimes 4-5. Maybe this indicates the amt of damge you'll take.

Meaning if you see 4 rocsk dropping around you and one of it hits u its 50x4 (On Level 1) = 200Dmg.

I've been hit by 4 cave-in so far 3 on lv1 all have been static 50dmg (Only saw 1 rock fall) and once on Lv2 100dmg (1 Rock).
