concerning mantles

im unclear on how these are decided to be dewy or not.

for example if i find some mantles at midnight and stand around until dawn will they be dewy? or vice versa

also are they dewy at dawn as well as dusk.. ive only ever found them at dusk

I've only ever found them at dawn, but I'll admit I haven't tried dusk.

If you "pick" them when the sun is touching the horizon on the right, they come out dewy.

Much to my chagrin, this does not work. You need to have the mantle appear on the screen after dawn has begun.

Change that to 'appear on the map' and you're right. There's a small window of opportunity here. If you show up too early, they'll spawn normally. Leaving the map and coming back doesn't seem to work unless the map has time to unload first.

Dusk won't work, they only spawn at dawn.

Wrong at spawning, I've waited for ones already spawned and tried them at dawn after, worked perfectly fine and they were dewy, you do NOT have to wait for them to spawn, they are not actually different items, what you get in your inventory is simply modified based on time of day.

Hmm... I'll keep an eye on it. It's hard to tell since there's no accurate in-game time.

This is in line with my experience too.

I've picked a normal one just before dawn, then picked a dewy one 5 minutes later in the same swamp (I waited to see the sun start coming up).
