What can I do with gold or silver

I think it would be very nice if someone with a silver or gold mine started making coins. It may be argued that they have no value, though with all items, including raw materials, their value is in both rarity and how much work it takes to make. Gold and silver coins have infinite value, so they are very good for being coin standards. The only thing is many people don't see value in them, however I see their inherent value despite the lack of gold or silver being able to create any items yet. I would very much so like for coins to become common as they will become very useful in Brodgar, and create an economy that will allow much more freedom and usefulness than our current item trading only we see right now.

you seem to be assuming that you can actually create gold coins atm.
This may or may not be true for all we know.

If you can make copper/tin/silver/whatever other new metal we have coins, then you can probably make gold coins.
