Let's say you have a claim in the cave and decide to mine within that claim. Can a troll spawn even if you are mining within the claim?

What type of claim? I know that animals won't spawn on personal claims. Anything can spawn on a village claim. As a note, I've not seen a post about a troll spawning on a Pclaim, so I'm not saying they won't (confirmation if anyone knows). Just a word of caution, there.

I doubt they will spawn on claimed land for some reason.

Trolls only spawn when mining. That's what makes it so hard to test if they will actually spawn on a claim or not. I guess you could make a claim alt to drop a very large claim and then start mining out everything.

and if you don't spawn a troll, there's always the possibility that one didn't spawn, even if it could have.
