How do i mine?

Can someone link me to a mining guide? or give me the basics>?

i live in a village, and none of them are online right now, we have a mine hole and they find ore in it, But idk were they are getting it from or anything like that, i just go around smacking walls ;/

Any tips or help is appreciated

For the sake of your village - don't touch the mine until they come online. Have them tell you where and how you can mine. Even if you read guides you still may cause problems in the mine and your ore may be worthless if you are full nature.

Just... wait for them to come back online and then talk.

But im the type of person that doesnt do anything that i dont know how to do


And as you said, i dont want to mess it up, i know all about the patterns and cave ins and all that,

The most important thing is probably this: don't touch anything unless you're full industry. As Procne said above, your ore will be worthless if you're full nature, through to being worth less, through to being as good as possible if you're full industry.

Got a question about mining. I'll use this topic to avoid flooding forum with mining topics if you don't mind.

Let's say some rocks need 150 dmg to be mineable.
And I have 120 STR. And a pickaxe q20.

What is the damage i deal?
I mean, how pickaxe q impact damages?

Is one qPickaxe point equivalent to 2 STR points? 3? more? ...

Mining Ability = sqrt(Str*Toolq)

So at 120 str and with a q20 tool you're at Mining Ability 48 (Literally 1 point away from Mining ability 49) so you can begin mining Difficulty 48 Nodes. You mine out softer stone substantially easier, faster, and with less stamina drain.

Hardness is determined just like any other quality node with a base multiplier equal to the layer you're on. Layer 1 Mines/Caves are Hardness 10 base and modified by any hardness nodes nearby, becoming higher in difficulty the closer you are to the center of the node. Layer 5 Mines are Hardness 50 base and can only go up from there.

There is no steel node, only iron. nodes are scattered around but if you find something on level 1 it doesn't necessary need to be node on level 2.
