Making life easier in HnH.

Postby Butko » Sat Aug 06, 2011 8:59 am

Now everyone asks himself how to make life easier in HnH?

Simple solution: alt clone farm. As some big factions use that why shouldn't everyone be familiar with that? It can cause more server crashes and more lag but hell with that we can live through that. Side effect can also cause devs to think we have a lot of active people playing and accounts but also heck with that salem is gonna be out in maybe less than year and horde of players will move there. So let's start:

1. step: make tons of accounts. Minimum: 1 main + 1 for every job (carpenter, hunter, cook, farmer )farmer and cook might be same alt), miner,... + as much clone alts you think you would need. Try to run as many as possible clients at same time with logged in alts. just wait until you can change sliders in personal beliefs to full peaceful and change so you get 360% learning ability. After that start feeding them curios. No matter what curios is, just fed them whatever you find lying around and if you find you have some materials stockpiled just craft curios. Straw dolls, metal curios, whatever you can find. Also try to get or make one good necro robe or merchant's robe. When you feed any of your character with curios, equip that robe and drink some alcohol so you will be able to get boost of robe and +10 int from alcohol. to intelligence. Also on some alts like farmer, cook and so on you can move sliders to full civilization to get even more int boost. Almost no need to feed them much int food, maybe only few fox sausages to get around 20-30 int, that should be enough with good necro robe, full civ. and alcohol. After you fill curios in, you can take off robe and use it on another character. If you change curios once per day or even more make one extra robe and keep it somewhere close for quickly changing :)

2 step: wondering how to feed them all? Make beer. Use FEP food for your main and miner if strength is needed but don't waste other food except you need perc or something on alts. Also keep in mind that and beverage like wine and beer count into FEP bar as food. So if you drink those 2 after you start filling new FEP bar, you will already fill some FEPs and decrease amount of FEPs needed to fill it up. So important thing is to have enough wine and beer at hand.
Good point of alcohol:
-free food for alts where you don't need to feed them FEP food
-reduces travel weariness while traeling (will discuss that later)
-boost your stats temporary so you can fill in more curios into mentory
-boost your FEP bar so it's faster to fill it up.

3. step: level up alts into certain jobs. Less skills you will decide to increase on each character, more faster you will level it up. So for example if you decide to level only farming on one character, you will get good number like 200 or 300+ faster than leveling 2 skills. It's up to you to mix jobs on one character or keep one job per character. But keep in mind, that some jobs might be connected (farming, dexterity, sewing,...) so check that on wiki (maybe will discuss that later).

4. step: level your main. Never go out with your main if not needed and never make much criminal stuff with main if don't needed. For stealing and vandalizing you have alts. That is why it's good to have vandal alts on separate account so you can play with main and alt at same time. It's also good to have at least 2 monitors.

5. step: level vandal alts. You will need resources like water and clay, whenever you find good clay source and it isn't walled (source near water), you can come there with alt with 2 large chests and dig as much as you can carry, then quickly get items into your "village" or wherever you live and use them ASAP or use trick to lose tracks on them, so nobody will be able to track stolen items. Put alt that you use HF somewhere outside or even better far away from place you live and laugh as you get free resources for very very small amount of effort.

How to level vandal alts? Simple: make new character and then you have several options: if you have a lot of curios to feed several vandal alts you can leave their personal beliefs as they are and just give them curios and i about few days they will have enough LP to buy thieving and vandalizing skill. For example I used only bronze steed q50, glimmermoss q20-30 and poppy flower q60. I changed every day and in about 4-6 days alt was ready and sliders were all on neutral position. You can also wait with logged in character until you move sliders to full peaceful/change and then feed less curios in but after death you will lose more LP. Or feed them on neutral and then wait to move slider to full tradition ( with that you can minimize the amount of curios needed but will take much more time to make vandal alt ready. Really up to you how you make it and what you can afford.
Of course don't forget to make murder alt. Yes. murder alt. You will get some scents to track time to time from some noobs and after some tracking you will find them and if they are easy prey to kill, track them and use murder alt to kill them. Again leave HF of murder somewhere away from place you live.

So if you keep your place hidden enough and free of scent tracks you should be okay, even more if you make brickwall around your ass. I recommend to have main place of living inside cave and only farm, livestock and trees outside.

Well that is it for today, I wish you happy hermiting and with that guide you can play same as big factions and lose almost nothing whenever your alt dies or not. This world is about alt warfare and about who will make more alts and more stuff with them.

You forgot to add how much time this all will "cost" someone who isnt in such big village and hasn't got the easy resources or craftables for 20 alts ;)

umad, cause I have 20 alts and you have 2?

1) how do you know if your suggestion is causing more server crashes and more lag?
2) devs know how active people are, how accounts are used. Loftar isnt as dumb as you are.
3) horde of players will move to Salem? are you some kind of prophet or something?
4) alt clone farm is not so easy to make for one player unless you have no life. and no-lifers always had advantages of playing long hours in the previous system too.

Well one thing I should add is that the clients is going to lag your computer if you don't have up-to-date computer as in RIGHT NOW. Even then, the clients are memory hogs. You also forgot something niche info. Several professions require other stats as well such as the cook needing perception and sewer needing dex. Jeweler is definitely not going to make it a walk-in-the-park either. Also, silk for merchant robes doesn't materialize on trees, you have to work for that or trade for it.

Throwing away vandalism and murder alts may seem like a good idea but remember that as a hermit you are going to be constantly trying to get that trad meter to change and back to trad. That takes around a freaking WEEK to do so PER CHARACTER.

Oh yeah, brick walls don't grow on trees either. You have to go dig the clay, make the kiln, burn it, truck it back to your wall and make. Oh yeah you didn't forget you had to mine iron first right? Also implying that someone won't simply kill you behind your brick wall for the hell of it.

In summary: There is no easy modo for you. No unlocked features for you.
You laugh at me because I am different. I laugh at you because you are all the same.

1. ) Logging in, logging out,... every time you log in you download map data and state of world around you. It's bigger data than when you walk around. Not many people have good computers to run enough clients for all alts.
2. ) Yeah they know, but you don't.
3. ) everyone will wanna try it so they will move there for at least 1 month if not more. And if as devs says salem will be so better than HnH then I hope they will stay there.
4. ) Read above and you will see it's easy.

If you're scared of scents, just do the following actions:
Put the stolen item to a chest. After this put the chest in a boat which is in a cellar for 4 (2 for thieving) days. This actions will prevent tracking the item. You can check it by yourself.
