Armor class

What does this mean and how does it work? I currently have my class at 0/131 and I am confused about this concept.

ok from my remembrance

\the first number is the dmg absorb and the second number is the dmg armor take.

so lets say you have armor chestpiece that's 50/50 and a boar hits you for 100 points. the first 50 points is absorbed by the armorchestpiece(the armor chestpiece takes no dmg from that) the last 50 points is taken by your armor but will receive 50 points dmg. now if mr boar hit you for 110, then armor absorbs 50 points, then takes another 50 points(reducing it's hitpoints by 50 points) and then you will receive 10 points dmg to your health.

hope that explained it for u

joojoo is correct.

Deflection/Absorb

Damage Reduction = Deflection+Absorb

Deflected damage is ignored entirely.
Absorbed damage is soaked by your Armor's HP
Any damage beyond this goes to your shp/hhp.

There is also piercing. 5% of melee damage will ignore DR, 30% of UA damage, and 0% of ranged damage.

So deflection last forever and reduces damage?

Also can you repair armor like damaged leather armor with more leather?

Nope, can't repair a thing.

Both last until your armor runs out of hp and explodes. The Deflection and Absorption apply to each time you are hit.

Ok let's say your armor is 50/50 and you get a 50 hit on you. Do the deflection and armor take half damage each making it 50/25 or does deflection negate all damage since it can... well deflect it?

Ah, sorry for not explaining that.

Damage will travel through Deflection first, then spill over into absorption, then spill over into your health.

So if you take 100 Damage from a punch and have 75 Deflect and 100 Absorption then:
75 Damage is deflected, 25 Damage goes into Absorption, then 30% unarmed damage pierces your armor for a total of 30 damage to your health, modified by combat weight.

To make a correction: Swords deal 0% piercing damage while axes deal 5% piercing damage.
