Getting Hungry?

Postby longblacksocks » Tue Aug 09, 2011 5:17 pm

Hi, just a quick question about raising attributes.

I think I am getting left behind on attributes. I have looked for example stats on the forum and mine seem very low in comparison to my stats. For example I have 50 exp but only 13 PER. 48UA and 30ME but only 13 STR. I just don't seem to get hungry enough during my activities to eat enough stuff to raise my stats.

Anyway, my question was do others just do random stamina using activities only to get hungry? Kind of lessens and immersion but I don't see any other way...

Alot of people will plow ground by hand and then drink to lose hunger. Also, you should invest in making urself a table. It will reduce the hunger gained from eating food depending what you put on the table.

So would you recommend me just digging for no reason just to get hungry and be able to bump up my FEPs?

That's what people do, yes.
Also running and mining will make you tired quickly

Do you farm? It uses up a ton of stamina and it produces better food than you can forage.

I do farm a bit yes. And bake. But it never seems to use up enough stamina once the original plowing is done... I might just do laps around my house!

EDIT: Or the swamp - would there be a market for dragonflies?

use a plow in the jungle, you wont get 4 or 5 squares b4 u need to drink. seriously, i can go through 3 buckets in no time by just extending my plot into the jungle.

I find that I spend just enough stamina if I use a shovel instead of the plough.

And yeah, bulk dragonflies should fetch a decent price.

You mean thicket? The whitish stuff on the minimap that you can't move at more than a crawl through?

Also: leech farming. Use your Con to raise the quality of leeches you have. Regenerating HP makes you hungry, too. Great for fishing, great for killing noobs without using murder.

Another great way, and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it since it's probably the fastest method to drain stamina outside of mining or sprinting everywhere, is beating on your palisade. Try to destroy your palisade with your bare hands (Don't worry, you won't do damage with anything less than 600 some-odd strength). Takes you down to nothing in moments.
