What would be the best melee warrior equipment?

I was wondering about this lately.
Imagine you got infinite pearls / wealth. what would be the best set of equipment possible in terms of items (not quality).
Or to make it simple: What does a pro main character wear?

You say a "pro main character" and "infinite pearls". But you do not define the character's level, which gear completely depends on. You won't see a guy with 30STR going around with a DHelm trying to fight people. It'd be more like a bear cape and ammy so they get the highest boost possible. Try rephrasing your question. ;D

Since it's a "What if...?" question, maybe a solid answer with a set of prerequisites for the chosen gear would be called for. The guy is obviously inexperienced in deciding what kind of gear to use in combat.

Dragon Helm, Steel Plate, Soldier's Gauntlets, Ranger Boots, and then your weapon will vary. Some people prefer B12 Axes and that's a perfectly fine choice. Other people go the Soldier's Sword route and that's also fine. Not everyone will agree on this but this is the highest damage reduction you're going to get.

I think some people would prefer cutthroat cuirass for stat boost over damage reduction. If you are taking damage in melee combat then you are kinda dead already and no armor will save you.

Thanks for the respons people. At least I know what to work towards now.
You guys think it would be better to have + items on your hand when having a rather new character? (my combat char has 30 STR en 60 UA atm).

So a beginner combar char (like me) should wear :

Forge rings,
Bear cape,
The cuirass, ==> Steel plate
Leather pants (is this better then ranger pants?)
Ranger boots
Soldier helmet ==> Dragon Helmet
Soldier gauntlets
Vapn
Soldier sword or 12axe


So this should be my primair objective so I can then focus on the equipment TeckX so gently inscribed?
