Chickens only spawn on grassland type terrain: grasslands (deep green), heath (pink), or moor (yellow). Rabbits will spawn any grass or forest terrain. For tips on catching them, read Sevenless' guide stickied at the top of the forum.

They're pretty common, just walk around a bit and you should find some rather quickly.

Might be a good idea to save up your LPs and get boat building so you can get off the mini isiand though. Not a great place to settle anyway (due to easy access for theives and griefers).

There is no quick way to find them. They randomly spawn. Some days I find none, other days I'll get a half dozen rabbits. Did you bother to read the guide I pointed you to? I'm guessing no.

If you're stuck on an island that is that small, then you should probably just give up on that character and restart. There's not a whole lot anyone can do for you. You might get lucky hanging around the water and get a passerby to give you a lift to the other side of the river. I'd say try global chat, but it won't be much help to you as you probably can't locate where you are in the world.

It does seem like bunnies spawn waaaay less often than they did in world 4. Seems to be the case with all animals. Maybe it's just my imagination
