Confirmation of wiki info (beehives)

Postby ninja_yodeler » Sun Nov 13, 2011 12:21 am

The quality of the products is related to the crop quality, and capped by the hive quality. It's also worth noting that honey/wax quality starts off below the crop/hive cap and slowly increases to it over time.
Best current estimate of Bee Hive Q formula = (2*Straw Q + Block Q + Board Q)/4

Is that true, I seem remember reading (in a trade thread where someone wanted to sell beehives) that someone said that loftar said that beehive q does not matter.

Just want confirmation.. will be very sad face if true :S ;)

I can guarantee that it's capped by hive quality. that Loftar quote has to be bullshit or Loftar was just high that day.

since you "guarantee", pain, care to explain why i get q11 honey and wax out of q5 beehive?
unless it was changed with the world reset, i dont see any caps with beehive side.
(but we all know loftar gets sneaky occasionally.)

btw, a brand-new hive producing better quality is a well-known fact, but does it prove beehive quality caps?
id better try and find out when i have time...

The quality of the beehive doesn't matter. (q40 wax out of q10 beehive). I don't fully understand beehives tho, fortunately our farmers seem to =s

What it is,I think, is that hives work like tamed critters, they are capped by their feed history. So when you started those hives with Q5 crops or whatever, they need to "eat" a shitload of higher Q crops to bring that historical average up. Could be wrong tho, my experiences have been similar to yours, but then I fucked up and made one out of shit boards (low q metal saw, no carp skill), and got the same Q wax as the good one(80+ saw, 40+ carp).
