lost key

Postby Eiermaler » Mon Dec 19, 2011 9:48 pm

I got ambushed inside my palisade and lost my key =(
Now I'm stuck inside and can't open the doors
and the thieves have my keys now -.-
do I have to ram down the gates and build new ones ?
that would be a butt load of work to do =/
What do you guys recommend ?

Do you have enough resources on the inside to build a ram and strength to use it?

Yes, you do. It's not that much work. The problem will likely be the lack of bone glue.

You could always try asking for your keys back, but don't trust them to not have made copies. You're best off making a new gate.

Only question remains: do you understand how you got ambushed INSIDE your walls and know what to do to prevent it from happening again?

well... I have a mine on my claim and someone who lived near me and seemed to be a nice guy asked me once to get a copy of my key to use my mine
so I wanted to be a good neighbour and made him a copy
everything went well till now... maybe my stuff began to look more interresting than our kinship ^^

Do you have any allies on the outside that can get you out?

Both times I've been locked in (I'm not very bright), I've just organized some allies to get me out, usually only takes a day or two depending on how far along they are.

PM me your location and I will lend assistance if you are not too far away. I will require modest compensation.

Also if you only have 34 strength, you will need wine or snuff to use a ram, FYI.

This or just run a second account and spawn a noob. 10 extra strength will be more than enough.

There is no way to send messages offline. You need to send an email or use a PM on the forums.

Never, never, never give a key to another person. If you want people to be able to travel to you, build a village and provide a system of crossroads so you can have some control over who does and doesn't get in. If they want to allow them use your mine, make them spawn an alt and join the village. The person can place a HF wherever they want and then warp back to the village to haul ore or materials in/out.

I won't even copy keys for people that I know personally and see every day in real life.
