Marksmanship or Unarmed?

hey im quite new to this game and yea i wondered, what would be best way to hunt down foxes..boars...bears..? marksmanship or unarmed combat? cant really decide...

..would it be clever to knock a boar with bare hands down?

Marksmanship, its significantly easier since you can shoot the animal from a boat and you dont need to put alot in it to kill an animal. Around 20 should be enough to start killing things.

Marksmanship to start off with. But you should really check out the wiki for more hunting info before you get yourself killed.

Marksman if you want to play safe from a boat. UA if you prefer land hunting. Both if you plan to do PVP.

The reason: You can kill any animal with even a q5 sling and minimal (10 recommended) marksmanship. You won't even be able to kill a fox until you push at least 30 UA depending on what other combat skills and gear you have, not to mention a complete lack of knowledge of how the combat system works. Once you know what you're doing and have purchased the right skills, you could even kill a bear with less than 50 UA/MC, and true of any other animal (and that fox would be a trivial 60-90 sec fight, tops).

I kill a fox way faster than that with UA, I'd say less than 20 seconds, and my UA isn't that great...I found using bloodlust to get the quick refill on attack bar you can punch a fox twice with around 35-40 UA(I forgot how much I had first time I punched a fox to death) and the fight is over.

I use ua against foxes since I started using a bow since I can kill them quicker with a punch than waiting for my aim bar to get up and I hate unhiding trees to make arrows...but yea marksmanship is the easiest way to kill stuff early on since you won't have the skills to take 1 using ua for a while.

You know you can just shoot a boar with a sling then strangle it when it runs with about 20 mm and 1 uc right?

thats only if you like fair fights, I prefer winning...I still think they should add a 'knee to groin' attack under tricks and ruses, a little more damage than punch and makes opponent cool down timer take longer
