Dill - have all items taken out (bought) - now put in one item with owner char and remove it again - now fill the slots with the char that should be new owner...

don't we have a RoB Wiki? huh?!? ;)

To change ownership

First all items must be removed from the barter stand.
Then place any item in any barter slot and remove it. This will free the barter stand to other users.

I read that and it still didn't work, I guess I can try again when I get home and I'll get back to you.

The barter stand has a bug with it. If you set price for barter it stays and you can never change owner. Ive tried several times but once you set a price no one else can use it. Unless yoru actually using it to barter never assign a price and leave it blank.

thanks LadyV that's prolly the explanation why changing owner doesn't work for a lot of ppl (i never tried myself...)

Update - Bug verified: tried to change owner - didn't work (price was set)

Seems Borka's part that explained it might need some more text.

You can never clear the set price icon. But that's not locking the Barter stand ownership.

The thing that matters to change ownership on a Barter stand is that the owner needs! to be the one that clears the last used slot from sellable items. ... Or, if there are currently no sellable items as they where taken out by buyers. The owner need to add something to a slot first so he can clear that (and last) slot again.
Now others can take ownership of the Barter stand.

... And of course make sure all your slots are cleared of payed items.

I've found that if you use shift-click to put items up for sale, you can shift-click them out and it will release ownership of the stand once you have no items inside

but if you put the item in by picking it up and dropping it in with the cursor, the stand becomes permanently yours =/ requiring a rebuild to change owners

There must be more to it than just not shift-transferring items into the barter stand. As I definitely did not use shift all of the time to put items in the barter stand. Actually I mostly just dropped items with the cursor in the barter stand, and my Barter stand was not owner locked.

Note that if a barter stand could be taken over after a buyer has bought the last item (and without any additional interaction of the current owner). It would be prone to hostile takeover. So this seems more a intended behavior than a bug.

Will look into this specific shift (or not) use later on. But I'm pretty sure its not that. I actually get the feeling there might not be a bug at all here.
(other that that you can't use zero as input value on Barter (and vending) stands input fields, while you can use zero q items to set the price on items in a Barter stands.)

Maybe the Barter stand ones was bugged by this, but it don't seems to be anymore.

Considering Dill did not reply back on the asked question. I think its save to assume it did work.

Unless someone can come up with some good data showing where and when things go wrong, I think its save to presume there is no Barter-stand owner-lock bug.
