Boar Punch

Hey I heard that if you shoot a boar with a sling it will run then you can punch it to kill it, so I tried it and after I shot it ran and I tried to punch but it missed, am I missing something?

A target that is moving has 0 effective defense. There is no such thing as randomness in Haven. The reason that you missed is that you did not break the enemy's defense bar, which means the boar was not moving when you punched him.

The only instance where you can miss when attacking a moving target is if you have 0 attack. If your red bar was entirely empty then you can actually miss a defenseless target.

My guess would be that the boar stopped running for a moment, which is why you caught up to him. Perhaps he was starting to repath or he had hit an obstacle.

Well I just tried it again and it was going perfectly straight had like 5 attack bar and it still missed, I have tried it like a thousand times

Not sure what to tell you then. I tried the same trick to no avail back in w3. Animal combat is not fundamentally different from combat with players so something must not be true with the advice you're being given. Ask whoever told you about it to show it to you to see how it works.
