At about 20ish exp, you can see thistles and brambles on mudflats. These are decent lp/hour and lp/weight. Their only disadvantage is size, but that early in the game you can't fill your study window anyway so it's perfect.
If you have access to a cave, 20-30 exp will open up stalagooms which are not amazing but well worth running. Boletes show up around here and are amazing curios.
Honestly though, I'd get exp until you can see nettles while eating blueberries, then make yourself a 4 piece nettle suit. Raise your survival to 10 with suit bonus and get a fishing rod. At this point fish until you have 30-40 int (stopping for curio collection when needed, eat the fish eyes as they're a terrible curio that gives PER).
Once you've got that much int, you can run everything simultaneously and start using itsy bitsy webs and other high end curios. They're great long term curios that you can't use early since you need lp now, not in a day and a half. Your LP gain goes intensely faster at this point and you can get the skills/stuff you need easily.
