Alright, thanks. So that basically means its not really safe to have a cave as your walls, less they happen to perfectly align... and even then, probably not?
Sorry, I should of just asked. Why should I not use a cliff as a wall? And any reason for the 50 tile limit? I havent played sense W3 or 4, I forget which.

You shouldn't use a cliff as a wall because of cliff jumping. It was supposedly fixed but I wouldn't trust it. Also I believe Arcanist thought you meant inside a cave for that part and inside a cave you can't mine the first 50 tiles around the cave entrance. I may be wrong though about what Arcanist meant.
Check me out on Twitch! I stream many different games and it may seem my channel is inactive but that is because I am now restarting streaming! (Click the image )
Yeah, that's what I meant. if you want to put a pailsade up in a cave it would be safe to wall on two sides, and the other sides be cave walls, so long as it's all within 50 tiles of an entrance. Although that would mean 4 inital cornerposts, it would be easier to make all 4 walls palisade and have 1 or two inital cornerposts, and cupboards don't decay in caves.
