Is taming borked?

Postby hazzor » Mon Jun 17, 2013 8:09 pm

I've never been able to tame a herd of animals without at least one or two just bugging out and becoming impossible to tame, they go into a state where they never re-aggro but will still follow me, and I can't use quell on them, I usually just stab them, but does anyone know what's actually going on with the animal?

Yeah its kind stupid. If your taming a herd animal you can attack a different part of the herd to force the animal to reattack. Boars are a little more difficult.

It won't. That's how most people tame it.
Note: Don't try re-aggroing a boar by making a friend use To Arms on it. Tried, didn't work.
Also, pro tip: Mouflons, when used "Stern order" on them, either you get -5 advantage or 5 advantage so pretty much all you need is 7 IP to tame it (provided you use consume the flames to reduce intensity)

My usual taming "rotation" is just to charge to enough ip then battlecry twice, consume flames and done, it doesn't really matter anyway, it's all trivial compared to the wait time between them, but assuming I can just force it then I guess it doesn't matter

Ah... Battle cry twice.
Good for aurochsen, instead of skulding 3 times.
Thanks!

Edit: Nope. That requires 21 IP, while 3 skulds require 17 (you can even use sting like a bee, which doesn't damage you)
My way is better.
