Missing rabbit fur from dying rack

I placed fresh rabbit fur on the drying rack last night and this morning it is gone. I know it did not get stolen. Any ideas?

I guess i don't know. But it was behind my fence and nothing else got taken or messed with

Now i think some things may have been taken but none of my crates are busted. How do I know? plus i thought they couldnt get in if I build my fence around my HF

They could have destroyed the fence, went trough it and took your hide. And then was gentle enough to rebuild it again?

Im not quite clear on how to keep me and my stuff safe till claimed land i built fence with HF as gate, and I lock my important stuff in leanto plus i dont sleep i log off instead. is there anything Im missing

you can make it safer by claiming the land, but not totally safe. raiders dont really mind leaving scents.
you can build palisades around to make it much safer, but not totally safe, already some pali-bashers are around lately.
you can build brick walls around and maybe almost safe, as long as you make sure you dont have a ram built around your place.

before claiming land? nowhere is safe.

p.s.
forgot, put valuables in your char or alt char inventory. that is safe.
