Is this game worth playing long term?

Postby BlackNail723 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 2:02 am

While I had fun the first day I played. On the second day I was chased by some murderer who I saw kill some newbie. While this game is fun, the idea of some child/douchebag just murdering and griefing me because it's funny is rather offputting.

So overall, is it worth it? I'm a bit of a loner so...

being as how your first post is whining because someone chased you or whatever? no. this is a game for those that can handle loss.

I suppose I should take the first post I get as what I would deal with. Me asking for advice and instead being insulted and told to go away.

I'm being honest. Want me to lie? "haven is all about farming and rainbows and lollipops and you'll never die and you'll ALWAYS be the hero!"

There. but in reality you'll die early and often and will only be able to coninue playing if you devlop hate for those who kill you and refuse to bow before them.

It may not be the nicest thing to say, but what he said is true.

In haven and hearth, you will die in some way, or u will get murdered. This game is relatively hardcore survival game. People will find enjoyment in tracking u and killing you and stealing everything you've worked on. You can lose everything in this game.

but on the other side, you get to play an amazingly addictive survival sandbox game, that has risk and adventure, and that has a ton of depth that you are unlikely to find in any other game. and if you play right, and learn how to play this game and its many different aspects, you will enjoy it, and you wont be so bothered by death or losing things, cause you know you can regain then back easily enough. or you learn from what u did wrong.

1 day doesn't give you any clue about this game. give it a go. don't be put off by being killed, enjoy the douchebags, and take insults light heartedly and find what a job u like in haven.

good luck

I enjoy hardcore survival games and the chance of loss doesn't bother me. What I'm asking is a bit clearer is "Does this game have more psychos that most games?".

Here's a cool tip, do what i do, build a brickwall, and never leave ever.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

psychos... Do you mean people that like to kill or raid?
Killing and raiding is a part of this game. There are no real rules and no real rules to be broken.
I've found that most people are pretty nice, so long as there's a wall in between you and them.

It has no more or less psychos than any other open PvP MMO. Ever played EVE, Ultima Online, Darkfall, etc? You'll know what to expect if you have, and if you haven't, well... welcome to the world of "competitive online gaming."
