It's bug where you can get them to follow you while in combat. They'll proceed to destroy everything around them that they can. I believe any objects with a soak value are safe, though.

Correct, so long as the object in question has as much or more soak as a palisade it will not be destroyed. Tested it on few objects near a dead idol a week or two ago.

Didnt think to see what would happen to the idol, I dont know how much soak they have... Hmm.......

Never seen them break a hearth fire, and those have the lowest soak at 5.
