Please Ask Simple Questions Here
Funny, because this thread already exists, has the exact same purpose as your's AND it's a sticky. Read the wiki and the sticky and you should be fine.

It's a shame more people don't update the wiki, there are so many blank pages on relevant subjects, it is not a surprise new people still need to ask so many questions. Most people probably don't go to the front of the Ask simple questions thread so the advice gets missed.

It would be good if the advice with regard to the wiki and the search function were more obvious to new posters which is what I think Lord of War is trying to say, so many new posters get shot down and then are afraid to ask or suggest things in future.

Amanda the problem is that too often the RoB Wiki gets edited wrongly. Also it's difficult for busy ppl doing everything and when there is not much input on certain things it won't get into the RoB Wiki that fast...and
the RoB Wiki is steady worked on ...

And most stuff relevant to beginners is covered very well - saying different makes the people that did all the work with the RoB Wiki look stupid... ;)

Guess one of the Mods could edit the RoB Wiki url into Jackards ReadMe First Stickie ... (oh boy how could i have missed doing that  )

Yes, I appreciate that. I didn't say it wasn't being worked on at all.

That is unfair though - I'm not meaning to imply that at all - Ofc the RoB wiki updaters are doing a wonderful job and we are all grateful to those that do so, I just feel for new posters sometimes when they have also put a lot of effort and work into their suggestions only to get told to read the wiki and made to feel stupid.

The point of this is to remind people to check the wiki. How they are reminded isn't my concern, its that they are reminded. This section has the most posts because the majority are questions that can be answered by looking at the wiki. I'm also trying to remind people to update the wiki. It is far better for informational organization than answering every question someone posts. Also most people don't search previous posts before they post.

how could you expect them to read wiki when they dont even read rules at all. stickies never get read either.
its kinda pointless to argue this, just add all those questions to tecks thread and let bored people answer.

They will if you yell it at them loud enough. Try all caps.
