Questions to the Developers

Postby krikke93 » Sat Mar 08, 2014 6:26 pm

Hello everyone,

I made this thread for everyone to ask questions to the developers. Easy, short, simple questions which Jorb and Loftar can find here and hopefuly answer. (easy for us, easy for them)
I have no idea if this is going to work out well or not, but we can try.

I'll start by asking two questions (I've used search, but never have I found an answer to these):

- Why isn't the leather tanning bug fixed yet?
- Why can't we pave bricks in caves or mining grounds?
- Why did you add the ability to pave gold, but not silver?

(there's going to be troll questions, but I'm asking you kindly to not do this, so this thread can actualy function well.)
Hope you have a great day

hey krikke - wrong subforum... C&I or the Inn would suit better - also i'm not sure if it's a good idea ...

maybe it would be better to PM jorb and ask for a Devs Q&A event at at a fixed time in haven irc channel?!?

I placed this in HdI because:
How do I description wrote:Ask, answer and discuss any and all topics about the hows, whys, wheres and whens of playing Haven & Hearth.

Seems general to me. Any question about the game.

And I don't know. I thought it would be useful for the devs to just come by this thread every once in a while to answer our most desired questions when they want. Like I said, it's a test.
Hope you have a great day

The tanning tub is a *very* old implementation that was made way back before maps unloaded and all kinds of shit. They'd need to be rewritten from scratch, and oh bother when we're remaking the whole game from a new codebase anyway.

Good question on the bricks thing. Probably no reason.

Silver didn't occur to me, I guess. I have no excuse.

actually since tileart became pretty popular would be nice to have some new colours for paving, not only silver
like skin colour, dark blue or/and violet, etc.
people would be able to make even more beautiful things or even whole pictures, if there will be more shades of the same colour
raw idea for a way to implement it: make tile (as floor tile, not as hnh tile), which can be crafted with clay of different colours and it's mix, then it should be burnt in kiln and the final shade of tile's colour will depend on how long it was burning (from pale to bright/light to dark)

#1 Why is metallurgy so simplistic, And what are your intentions for the ore/forging in the new haven? More like it is now? more like salem? a hybrid? or something new entirely?
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35286&p=468759&

#2 Combat, What kind of system will be implemented for the new haven? Will it reward just skill points, or actual skill?

Sorry if I went off topic for the new haven, but jorb did mention it first so...

Since there are alot of requests for this, Jorb or Loftar could start a poll whenever they want, asking for who wants a world reset. If it would get more than a certain percentage, it'd be reset. Votes should work through IP in this case for obvious reasons.
Hope you have a great day
