Storm of Swords

Is the number of strikes based on anything? Because iirc I used to get like 5/6 attacks and I've read other people getting that. Now I get at least 8. Was this a skill change? Or does it increase with melee or agi or something?

I had actually forgotten all about it, but apparently, it is based on your Melee Combat value. The number of strikes is 3 + ⌊MC / 30⌋.

Total mc as in skilled value + thane rings, or only the skilled value?

Haha well I'm glad I noticed something useful.

Basing the number of hits on a value you can increase is great! However, it seems like it might be better to make it dependent on agi rather than melee. As it is skills>>stats. And it would be nice to incorporate more than str/stam into combat. (I've been meaning to make a whole page long thread about this, but kepp putting it off  )

I think several stats can have useful combat purpose. Agi determine attack speed (as well as weapon type affecting speed). Dex affecting Dagger damage or crit rates. Weapon type damage, Where chain is better vs. bludgoens (HAMMERS FTW!), Plates better vs sharps. etc.

But all of that is pending combat revamp. Only thing I can't fathom...is without SOME form of healing....how grievous damage will ever be meaningful.
