Dual wield

Postby theTrav » Sun Jun 14, 2009 1:57 am

I have two swords. If I use them simultaneosly it doesn't appear to make a difference in combat. Is this right?

I tried before, and dual wielding doesn't seem to happen, even though you can be equipped as such. So... confirm.

You can't dual wield... yet.
The sting attack only uses 1 sword, so we'll have to wait for an attack that uses 2.
I've demanded it from Loftar and I think they'll implement it sooner or later. :)

In terms of dual wield, I think it'd be best if it made you attack more often. What I mean is you attack in half the time, like with Combat Meditation, except 1st with primary weapon, then secondary. Maybe have a series of dual wielding skills, first giving you the attack with 2 weapons, and maybe increase offhand damage. I dunno.

i don't think time should be cut in half. because if you're dual wielding chances are you're already using meditation.
Using two swords isn't much faster than one sword. Perhaps give a slight speed boost, but give a damage penalty as you can't hit as hard.
The ones who see things differently.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

This isnt star wars, dual wield has nothing to do with medieval slavic/germanic game. My vote's no!

I don't see how the ability to hold two swords or only one has any effect on what era you are in. I would assume that somewhere out there had to have been some guys in the medieval times that dual wielded during that time period.
That has no logic behind it what so ever, if you have two hands you can hold two fucking swords! 8-)
My vote is yes. For realism!

In unrealistic because people werent berserks searching for a fight which they wont escape alive. Two swords are uneffictive as you have no advantage over any enemy. Twohand weapons have higher range in melee combat > dual swords. Archers have huge range > dual swords. Shield Sword guy can block your attacks > dual swords.
Dual wield really first became popular since star wars i think, because there is no defense against a lightsabre anyway since it just vaporizes everything and it looked cool on anakin.

I think it became popular because its in a lot of fantasy-style things as a effective way to "look impressive" while fighting multiple opponents.
