Kill a 'X' bear with 21 marks/q10 bow+arrow/18dex

Possible to do within 120 arrows or do i need more arrows?

Obviously from behind a secure, fenced area... or from a boat on a river. Also, will the bastard run away? I'm betting "yes" and "have fun chasing it"

edit - fyi it is possible for me to kill a L9 boar with 50-60 arrows from the above. i want to know how many orders of magnitude greater a bears' hitpoints are.

Don't bother with those stats. Although dex doesn't effect ranged combat.

YOu gotta be kidding. I can accept that people are mad about the great margin of hp between newbs and olders players. But comparing bears to boars. just what the fuck are you thinking. Nothing ridiculous here, a bear has 800hp, a boar about 300 iirc. Just gtfo and stop posting crap please. your fucking newb arrows arent even going through his fur.

I don't really think that it's that unreasonable if you consider that they are q10 arrows fired from a q10 bow; if you think of them as really dull arrow fired at a very moderate speed, it's reasonable to assume that each arrow hardly scratches the hide of the bear.

I agree, a Q10 arrow might just be a straight but dull stick with a small stone attached for a counterweight, but even then such a dull stick could fly into the eye and cause some critical, life-threatening injury.
Maybe i've just been spoiled by dwarf fortress's combat system too much.
