I don't even really know why Andelofriges died, I think I may have accidentally starved him, but now he's lying on my brother's field and I can't seem to take his gear off him with my new character. This mainly sucks because I was using my brother's fishing pole, which I had completed. It says "taking this would be stealing", so I activated criminal acts because I wanted to rob my own dead body. But, now it doesn't say anything and I still can't take the items.

And I don't know how to move the body either. :(

Also, I can still build and craft everything Andelofriges could even though the skills are not listed. I can even swim without being able to fish.

For taking stuff from a dead guy? That's odd. :S

Hmm. I'll see how to get it, then. Does gear and inv rot away when a body becomes a skeleton?

This should be allowed without criminal skills for kin who can take items from your claim & characters who inherited.

I think so too, but I wasn't kin to myself and I don't think I count as offspring or something. I don't know how that works. :?

When you tried to log on as the unexpectely deceased you found yourself in the character creation room. It was different this time. There was a runestone memorializing him. If you click on this it gives you the option to inherit many of his skills and stats, depending on how far along to change or tradition he was.

I'm not sure but if you create a new character on that same account you may have the runestone in the character creation room so you can still get the option of trying to salvage some of his lp. But I don't know. I've never actually managed to lose a character to death, only to forgotten log in.

I support the motion to have direct decendants able to retrieve objects from their fallen parent. They inherit claims so this should be possible too.

I'm pretty sure this already works.
