So I'm new to the game and I'm really liking it. I only have one problem. I cant find any towns. love that there's no "GPS" But I've been attacked by bears and my life is low. I have the first aid skill and I've been using the wiki a lot. so i know i need to sheer sheep in order to make bandages. BUT i cant find any sheep!. I've seen the maps on the forum and my biggest problem is I can't even locate where i am on them. any one have a more detailed map? My in game name is Tark Swiftarrow. someone help a noob out please.

While i don't know any advice aside from "explore your region" if you want to find towns and villages, i can help you with sheep.
Sheep don't occur naturally, since they're domesticated mouflons. You'll find those randomly spawning on grasslands. If you feed them a fourleaf clover (needs some perception*exploration), you'll be able to shear them for one wool per clover.

Quickly? No. But you might want to search for Leeches, which will drain your soft HP (red bar) and increase your hard HP (yellow bar) sometimes.

You can use leeches, but they're anything but quick. You can find them in swamps. Just stand there and they'll attach themselves to any free equipment slots.

Leeches take 1 soft hit point per 10 levels of quality (they all start at q10, and increase in q when they suck blood, up to your con) and have a chance of restoring an equal number of hard hit points (1 in 10 chance is my estimate).

They'll suck 3 times, and then they'll bloat and stop sucking. You can put bloated leeches in a container and they'll unbloat after some hours, retaining their q.

If you're out of SHP, leeches will instead drain HHP, so make sure your SHP is full before using them. SHP regenerates on it's own, up to your HHP, as long as you're above very hungry.

They may seem a bit crappy, but unlike bandages they don't require you to sacrifice your hat slot, so I personally use leeches even though I have a flock of sheep.

I've been wandering around alot lately comparing what i see to the map linked from the wiki. is that and old map? and does any one have a link to an updated one?

the map in the wiki belongs to the second world, i.e. before the last reset. there is to my knowledge no public world map of world 3 yet, and larger richer settlements are loathe to show their maps, as this attracts thieves. google reveals a mapping thread in here that has some more or less extended maps of different age, and some dated russian mapping threads on an imageboard.
