How to Kill Running Creatures

I'm just curious how one is expected to kill a Bear or Boar when they run away in fear after a certain amount of injury... Where do you find the time to trap it in place while it's bashing your face in OR sprinting at top speeds away from you? I don't really understand.

In my experience, boars stop running if you let them get far enough that their avatar turns into a question mark for a couple seconds. Not sure it always works, and it risks losing the combat LP, though.

what i try to do is keep a tally on what the general hp of the animal. then when i think it's getting close, i hit it with a super hit.

also u can move around a lil bit to putthe animal's back to a big obsticle(like a cliff or river)


if/when the animal does run, i usually hit my attack button and then turn on my faster movement speek i can go, and hope it works(which 9 outta 10 times it does)

Ok but what if you're ranged?

Bears will return towards your direction after you are far enough that their combat protrait is a ?. You can shorten the time away from combat range to prevent LP loss but moving the opposite direction till you see the ? before turning back towards the bear's direction.

Boars on the otherwise, is best chased after. Boars are slightly slower than running speed which is the speed you need to chase after it. Use jump (or flex if you have 6 IP) to bring up your attack meter up so you can strike again while its defense meter is depleted. Sting like a bee works if you have enough IP to spare for an attack.

As a range hunter though, you may want to lure them into a shore trap. Otherwise it may not be possible.

Just trap the boars.
They cant 'see' behind them and wont attack if they're not walking (Am I explaining right?)
Anyway, I just put some signs around them, best if they just ran into something so you dont have to do the frontside.

To chase down boars with marksmanship: select the olive branch once it starts running so it stops once it moves away enough. sneak up on it and take another shot.

Best thing to do is trap them.
For bears: Trap them with boulders, boats, anything, just ask some friends and aggro it once yourself from a safe place

Get enough strength to oneshot them. Or at least do the last portion of the animals health in one swing.
