Empty village, occupied lands?

Postby Killawatt » Fri Jun 11, 2010 11:29 pm

So... Through an odd series of coincidences I was left alone on the outskirts of a village... Yet not a part of it. The people in the village are long gone, yet their village claim remains. They told me I could have whatever I wanted from there. Is there any way to proclaim myself as lawspeaker of the village or is theft my only option?

If nobody is officially a village member and earning LP, the village authority will slowly fall. Once it's below a certain point, the village claim has no effect, and you can steal/vandalize without scents or even criminal acts on. If you're near the idol and see yellow numbers popping up on it, that means somebody is gaining authority for the village.

Nope; my guess is 1 RL week, 2 at most. I can provide this (maybe someone else knows default authority pool and hourly drain):

Game Development: Villages

It costs 15,000 per day to support the idol. If there are also banners or statues it will drain more. This is the rl day, not the ingame day.

Idol alone costs 15k per IRL day, and gives a default authority cap of 250k. Each statue adds 20k to the cap and takes (from what I recall reading, and may be off) 5k per day, and each banner raises cap by 13k, and I believe takes 3k per day. The authority needs to be under 50k for you to declare yourself the new lawspeaker, but this is only assuming the existing one did not drop village. If there is no lawspeaker, the option should be available to anyone. If he didn't, then it will take 10 days to drop from max to claimable, if it's just the idol.

I'm back, and I can't seem to snag it. The village is deserted, and the claim has dispersed, so I've been able to take what I want. However, I still can't seem to claim the village, since the location it's in is prime. Will I be able to just... take it?

You should be able to walk up to the village idol, and a box will pop up with a button to name yourself lawspeaker.
