We are planning a long haul /raft+ wagon/ which will certainly take some time. Chicken put in containers will be certainly dead by then. It's something like 8 hours it takes for them to die without food.
Eggs are not an option either, as far as I understand. When the white timer-thing around the egg disappears it seems no hen living in world 3 can make em hatch.
So do you have any ideas? We don't know whether there will be crossroads on our way and don't want to lose our adored ~q50-ish chicks.

Fresh high Q chicks can be made easily if you have high Q enough seeds & spike it like that from the start of the chicken coop(or at least empty out your fodder thing now that it's an option and start with fresh sets of high Q seeds with fresh chickens.)

So.. it's really not that "important" to keep those ones alive. Just make sure your seed quality is high enough to fill a fresh chicken coop with high Q seeds from the start when you get to your new "destination".

You could alternatively keep a guy at your current base with enough seeds to feed the chickens until you reach your new destination, make a village idol and warp that new guy to your village using methods mentioned above.

you seem to be under the impression that fodder q will raise the animals quality... that is not the case. as with all domestic animals the quality is only raised through breeding.

So if you swear a character into village B, then destroy his HF, he can get to the village across any distance.

Sweet! Great news, thank you.
And what about summonporting? Did you mean that a HFless charachter can be summond right away using his scent? Or chiftain-summoning thing /which sadly didn't work for us because of the distance/?

Yeah, like that. If the hearthless guy logs in while he is summoned, he can play from that location.

So you can get away with leaving an alt to mind the chickens and then port them over when you reach your destination.

Whoa. That's something new for me. It seems that I understand the rough concept, but can't quite grasp the details. Can you please be a bit more specific?

In my case we need to get from village A to an abandoned village B left to us by a friend. They are a couple of sypergrids away from each other. We can have alts in both and build different stuff, but need to get our posessions and main chars /poor agi-wise/ to B.

Player A Blows up his HF
Player A is invited by LS 1 and becomes Villager of Village XYZ
Player A Warps to Village Idol regardless of AGI
Player A drops stuff.
Player A is re-invited by LS2 and becomes Villager of VIllage 123
Player A is Warps back to Village Idol and picks up more stuff..
Player A then is invited by LS 1 and warps stuff over.

This method is good for getting village signs over long distances usually or doing quick trades, etc.

Don't recommend you doing this too much as your Authority will plummet, unless its already pretty much screwed and you gonna work it all back up anyways.

So a Q10 chicken breeded with another Q10 chicken for a Q65+ chicken before is just a coincidence? Numerous times?

That's just sloppy record keeping.

Pics require effort on my part.

Or broken game-play mechanics?

Whether it's supposed to do it or not, it does. I don't really think it's a coincidence since numerous people playing H&H it HAS happened to.

No, you're just a bad record keeper. I've got q 120 pumpkins in my coops, and yet my chickens gain no more than 5 q points per generation (q90 atm).
